There’s nothing to see now, Craig, it looks just like it did, with one or two screw/ rivet markings missing. It’s what lies below the skin that makes the difference !

No ailerons, mine are fixed.

Should have the A700 servos soon.

David.

Two of the new Futaba HPS a 700 servos have arrived and will be fitted into the Mig next week, so thanks for the heads up about these Futaba servos, Craig.

With 70kg/cm s of torque I guess these servos are going to be the ultimate for flutter resistance and accuracy under load.

As as soon as they are fitted and the linkage reviewed to absolutely ensure the tightest control circuit It will be airborne again. That said, I may still completely review the stab mount and control installation as per Craig’s design, looks like a winter job though!

I will I’ll be doing a review for the A700s for RCJI similar to that which I did for the superb Ditex servos. ( Fantastic servos but the Futaba is over twice as powerful. )

David.

Hello there , I decided to go back on these jet and work a little bit on the Ailerons and flaps so I’m posting some pictures of the progress my flaps were ripped all the way through so I had to use some Kevlar and it work with no issues.

When it cures halfway then start Band back-and-forth to get that crease going and after that there’s no problem
Also some more pictures for that work on the hinges on the flaps.

Great scheme and nice work for getting it done. Sounds like there’s a lot of work to get one of these right.

Looks fantastic spaceman. I really like that scheme. Mine is almost done. Here is a short vid of my gear test. I have to adjust the timing in the doors but that should be straight forwards. 2 cylinders on the nose retract. Locking cylinders on all 3 gear.

Hi Nick,

Levi will no doubt let you know what his flight times are. He has the original tank’s and Jetcat 140s in his mig. Almost midnight at his place now but he will chime in tomorrow I guess.

Nick, my Mig has jetcat 140 engines and I set the timer for 6 minutes which allows ample reserves for a couple of go arounds. You may be able to add a couple of minutes with experience.

The Mig flies beautifully with tailerons so do let us know how it goes with ailerons.

Nice paint scheme and good luck with flying.

Craig, your gear looks perfect, please advise pump/ battery combo as it’s faster than my setup.

Mine me will be flying again soon with the superb Futaba servos you recommended.

Thanks for the tip !

D.

ps you guys might be advised to glue the tyres to the wheel hubs. The original tyres expand with centrifugal force and almost leave the hubs.

Looks great. Good looking gear door fits.... Where did you get the landing light on the main door?

David, thank you I will do the first flight set at five minutes. the kingtech engines tend of sucking a bit more fuel. I am looking of doing the test flight this coming weekend if it does not snow here in Chicago.

I love how busy the gear look going in and out! Awesome! Are they electric?
