Yes, did the doors. I tried to keep the gap as small as I could. My gap may be about 2mm but as you know this gap changes as the door retracts. There will be some rubbing but its really minimal and the full size looks like it has a weathered area from the doors closing and retracting.
I'm with you regarding detailing them later!
I posted some images of the speed brakes, hope it helps. Its pretty nice how all these rams can be made to fit in such a tight space.

Hi again
Van Opdorp
I really like the building process, now I'm working on my F-16, 1/5 scale designed by Marijn. It's really good bird and had good flying performance.
Enjoy it

Hi Marshad,
Marijn's F-16 is really amazing quality. I'm sure one will make its way to my workshop next year! I ended up getting the Skygate Hawk and look forward to building that one. They sent me the build CD and I was amazed at how well it all goes together and the quality of all components. The fit and finish on all glass work is another nice thing that led me to it.
Enough cant be said about your 1/5th scale F-16. I have seen some video of it and just love the detail that they have put into it.
Thanks for the link.

Guys,
Here is my paint scheme though mine is aircraft 18. All paint will come from Ralle of course.
what I ended up with regarding the lower intake doors.
geer doors shot
Cant wait to swing the mains inside her belly under hydraulic power.

Nearly finished with second door, gaps are about the same on both doors. Mine are wider than yours. I have to think of a good way to tighten this up.
Love the color scheme you picked and inspriration is always a good thing.

Hi Ro
FS36375 is Compass Grey. Same colour as the underside of my F-15 BT060. I have the US standard colour chip if you want to borrow it.
Cheers

Thanks Paul, We have to catch up soon.
Hey John, I think what you have done looks really good I would not worry to much about the gap.
Thanks, I love the Hungarian schemes. They had some top shelf mig29 pilots also!
Should also be a fresh scheme to see due to the fact this scheme has not been done yet.
Best,
Ro

I tend to agree with you on the gaps since the doors are open when the engines are shut down. Who's going to see them. I saw Mig #1 taxi in with the chute blossomed out behind it and the doors closed before shut down. Pretty cool. With only 100 of these kits everyone should have no trouble doing something different.
I decided to cut the door pins flush with the nacelle and cover the opening with an access hatch made from flitemetal. There has to be some sort of an access panel so the shaft can be serviced on the full scale bird. If you need to pull a door and I doubt you will, all you need to do is pull off the inboard cover and replace the cover when your finished Did you use the outboard 5mm brass tubes as bearings for the 4mm door pivot rod like the instructions call for?
Best regards

For the lower intake door bearings I just used these item as seen below. I will trim the hard plastic tube off so its flush too. You can also insert a brass tube/rod inside the plastic tube if concerned about strength. The outer alloy tube gets glued to the door. In my images you can see this allow tube that the plastic one goes in.

My kit came with aluminum tubes but also came with short 5mm brass tubes that get glued into the nacelle and intake wall joing them together and acting as a bearing for the pivot shaft to reduce the stress on the glass. I have to decide if I'm going to use them or add them later if I need to. Hope you have a good weekend.

Here are some images of the chute tube. This area is extremely tight with a lot of parts packed into a tiny area. The last picture is the dowel that the chute release cable loops over. I'll take pictures of the cable installation and the finished chute tube. The second from the bottom pictures shows the chute servo access.
Ro for some reason I could not use Photobucket. Dave is building my cockpit, Dennis at Glennis has the wheels finished and painted but is waiting on the brake valve before he ships, should be soon I hope. I need the wheels to finish the landing gear setup. Still no word from Intairco on the doors.

My wheels and brakes came. They look great and fit perfect. No cockpit yet but its in progress and Peter billed me for the doors so I know they are on the way. I haven't been doing much and I'm heading to New York for a week. When I get back I'll start back on the Mig. I never did get the speed brake door s to completly close. They are pretty close. I got some idea's on how to close the gap up. I really don't want to cut up the inside shell of the lower door any more than I have. I would have to remove a piece of the lower door rail to increase the clearance for the 90 degree fiiting to drop into.
See ya when I get back.

I'm still in New York but had a chance to add some pictures to our build. Here are some pictures of me finishing up the chute tube mechinism and the Glennis wheels. The Glennis wheels look and fit great. They are worth every penny. I had Dennis paint the wheels before the tires were installed to make my life easier. My Intairco doors have been shipped and Dave Mosher said my cockpit is just about finished. This is a slow build but very rewarding experience.

The Mig is a great project, but if I were you, I would focus on what I could get in the air this season. If it's the Hawk so be it. Besides the Mig is a project that demands time and deserves to be done right. Take your time with the Mig and enjoy the journey. I know thats what I'm doing, besides how else will I ever catch up with you.

RE: Composite ARF Mig29
Hey Guys,
This is David Mosher, I am the guy on the West Coast "Pacifica CA" who built the cockpits that Ro and a few others have on this thread.
I just was sent this link from Ro, I don't know how I missed this build thread? I was getting a little bummed out because I could not find much build information on our Migs "I have Kit # 23 by the way" other than several people who posted that were not that happy with the landing gear and that there were really not happy with having to pay an addional 2500 for an upgrade/fix.
All in all I am excited to own one of these amazing aircraft and I hope to have it flying in the next year but it sounds that it will be more than likely longer than that from reading about other peoples experiences. Currently I would say that I am about 50-60% done " can not claim credit for the work so far I purchased the kit from a friend" but I still need to tackle the landing gear issues; I do have the Omega system though so I would be very interested to hear feedback from anyone who is using this setup. I also have the new Gear door set and upgrades to the main Elevator horns. I am considering going with the Glenis wheel solution just to make life a bit easier when working on installing the gear doors.
I notice that several people have allot of detail elements to of Hinge covers/ landing lights/ probes etc; do these parts come with the original kits?
One thing I was also considering is creating for our kits is Hard points and ordinance package along with a center tank; does anyone know if these are available through another manufacturer?
Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello.
For those who are interested here a few pictures of my cockpit kit I offer and show the my progress on my personal cockpit. For those who have already received one of the cockpits I sincerely hope the kit meets your expectations.
lots of great information here and I look forward to contributing to the thread.
Take Care

RE: Composite ARF Mig29
Hi Dave
This is John, your cockpit looks great sitting next to my Mig. I'm working onn a kitchen project at the moment so it's going to take a month or so before I get back on the Mig. Ro got the landing lights from a guy in Germany. There is a reference to him earlier in this thread. I sent him an email but since have not heard from him. Ro might be able to help score a couple of those kits. The hard points and center tank would be great, I have not seen anything like that out there yet so you could have a opportunity. Maybe you should do the landing lights and other bumps as well if we can't contact the man in Germany. As far as the Glennis wheels go I have them and have not had time to adjust the mains to see if they fit better, I can tell you they look better for sure.
Ro
Hope your doing well, life is busy for me so the Mig progress has slowed to a crawl. How about you?
Best regards
