Check the spark plugs and set the gap as per the manual. Next I would lean it out on the the needle to see if its too rich

Top cylinder is best to measure as it will get hottest on any radial engine. I place the sensor on the cylinder as high as possible without touching the exhaust port.

Can only recommend that when you break in the engine you mount and run it with all 3 cylinders in top position. Make your test stand so you can rovolve the engine 120 degree.
