RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly Thread

JoeEagle

Your correct ... that is the adjustable prop I saw in Toledo.
I'll keep tabs on them for the 4-blade version. Looks like $175 to $200 will be the price.

Revisited the issue of the Moki 2.10 fitting in the cowl.
It fits without any cutting.

The only thing I must work on is the muffler. I purchased a J-Tec for inverted installation....

Very interesting.
Museum grade ... doesn't look like the prop is available yet ... not on price list.

I saw a four blade ( 2 & 3 also I believe) adjustable pitch prop...

26 inches

The Full size prop was approx 11 feet in diameter.
I believe it could go to 32 inch pitch ( variable).

RE: First Flight!!!

Looks nice ?
How much of this unit will protrude out of the cowl?

If the equasion I have is correct, the 24 pitch at 4400 RPM equates to 85 to 90 MPH!

How nice it would be...

RE: First Flight!!!

ZDZ 80 ... Are you nuts !

I thought you were building a P-51 ... not a rocket.

That thing is going to be powerful.

The plus side is, if you don't need the speed/power for "normal"...

RE: Over powered !! yea !!!!

My limited research would indicate a smaller prop with more pitch is the better way to go for speed.
The 2-blade 20X17 would be my first choice. See what others think.

Wow, a lot of work .......

You did a good job keeping the plane at that weight.

I have the kit version and have estimated that the weight will be 21-22 Lbs. with monokote ( I hope I'm correct).

He had nothing but positive comments.

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly Thread

I found a pilot (called P-51 on the box) at Toys-R-Us for $20.00 like the one displayed.

Bought two.

Very nice.
