Thanks Thunder for the info, that is good to know! Sounds like these gas engines as a whole, are bullet proof.

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly (1ST MISHAP!!!)

Hey CR.

Question for you. Since you have so much time on this engine, I was wondering how you keep it running so good. How do you store it for the winter? Do you run some oil thru it or what? I...

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly (1ST MISHAP!!!)

Now that is interesting, I would be curious to find out what caused it to fail? Vibration? Defective metal? Is this the only torque link that has failed on your model?

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly (1ST MISHAP!!!)

Where do you get the "soft mount kit" ? I am interested in doing the same thing to reduce vibration to the airframe from the engine. You have done some very nice wood working there! Again, nice...

Hey Thunderbolt.

The modifications that you did, are they accessible from the lander gear bay? Or, do you have to remove some of the covering?

Thanks,

Mike

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly (1ST MISHAP!!!)

What exactly is the landing gear upgrade? Is there a post you might be able to direct me too? Is it just adding more glue in the landing gear areas?

Thanks, Mike

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly (1ST MISHAP!!!)

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly (1ST MISHAP!!!)

Ok, I understand. The door then acts as a cowl flap basically. It allows air to travel down the fuse to help for better cooling for the engine.

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly (1ST MISHAP!!!)

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly (1ST MISHAP!!!)

What size spinner does this bird take? Does a spinner come with the kit? If so, is it any good?

Thanks,

Mike
