If it became more nose heavy, wouldn't the CG be farther forward, not rearward? The farther toward the back of the airplane the CG is the more tail heavy the aircraft is, not nose heavy.

Thank you guys for the response. I think that you confirmed my guess about the CG in the manual being a little too far to the rear, making for a pitch sensitive aircraft at slow and landing approach...
